Sonatest exhibiting new Large Low Frequency WheelProbe at the expanding UK show - Advanced Engineering, November 12-13, 2013. Visit us on Stand D105

Sonatest Ltd are set to exhibit at the Advanced Engineering UK 2013 show one of Europe’s leading advanced engineering sector showcases for over 600 companies from across multiple and specialised high value engineering & manufacturing communities, where engineering technology innovation is key, With five show–floor based auditoriums the event will host over 200 expert led technical and strategic presentations over the two days; adding to the invaluable experience and benefits that this event now provides for those involved in the Aerospace, Composites, Automotive and Electronic engineering sectors.

Sonatest will be exhibiting in the Composites Engineering sector of the show on Stand D105 this year, growing in presence alongside the show itself.  With expertise in composite testing and knowledge of material processes, Sonatest are ideally placed to work with in providing comprehensive solutions for the testing of composite components across the full spectrum of industries and manufacturing processes.

Alongside the traditional NDT equipment solutions that come in the forms of the Dryscan Digital Flaw Detector, the Phased Array Flaw Detectors such as the Prisma and Veo combined with a variety of scanning technologies;  Sonatest will also be launching their new Large Low Frequency WheelProbe which has been developed and designed specifically for the inspection of thick, attenuative composite materials such as glass re-inforced plastic  (GRP).   Adjustable for convex and concave surfaces this new large format array systems requires minimal coupling and is compatible with a wide variety of Sonatest, and other manufacturer’s, instrumentation.

The  Rapidscan 2 system will also be exhibited and is optimised for the detection, measurement and quantification of a number of defects common to composites including de-laminations, inclusions, porosity, bonding.  Detailed and clear C-scan images enable the easy identification of anomalies and recent applications have included scanning glue joints, monolithic test panels and skin-to-core interfaces in sandwich panels, amongst others; and is ideal for NDT inspection across a wide range of industry sectors including marine, aerospace, wind energy, automotive and medical.

The British Institute of NDT will also be hosting a forum session during the show on Tuesday 12 November, Open Forum 4.  Selected expert speakers will focus on various aspects of industry and will demonstrate how NDT underpins the advancement of engineering technology in various sectors.

Show organisers UK Tech Events have also announced that attendees to this years ‘group of events’ will receive, for the first time, post-event access to Open Conference material presented at this year’s parallel events, via personal log-ins, providing attendees “ a years worth of intelligence in one visit”.

2013’s feature exhibits will include wing structures, landing gear, aero engine technology, high performance sports cars, advanced materials, electric aircraft land speed vehicles, microlights, formula 1, advanced engineered components and more..
